“The Magnificent Fortisians”
I use the movie “The Magnificent Ambersons” (Orson Welles; 1942) to analyze the downfall of the Fortis imperium, and illustrate the resource-based view of the firm. It is also a call for humility. The Fortis drama has shown that the personal quest for executive ego should never prevail over the business priorities of efficacy and efficiency.
